Do you have an appetite for learning?  Do you like to measure, mix, and make a mess?  Lizzie Lou believes everything is sweeter when it’s covered in chocolate.  The characters in the book, Sammy, Maddy and Patty, agree!  These kiddos have very different personalities, yet have three things in common.  The characters are chocoholics, they have a blast together, and they are eager for you to join them in the kitchen!

The first portion of Covered In Chocolate is a collection of child-centered recipes.  Crazy fun facts about the ingredients and relationship driven messages from our characters are included in each recipe.  Chocolate is the superstar ingredient, and it oozes through every recipe in this book.  Sammy, Maddy and Patty are certain you will loooove making (and eating!) these treats.

The second portion of the book allows you to peek inside a chocolate factory and see how chocolate is made. Like the other portions of the book, it is written from the character’s perspectives.  Finally…an educational book kids can relate to and understand!

The last portion of this book is a collection of “hands on” ideas that parents and educators can use to whet appetites for continued learning across the curriculum.  All the projects offer a creative forum to explore and learn within and beyond the kitchen…all making learning fun.  All the ideas are covered in chocolate…of course!
