Hello and welcome to my homepage. Some people assume that since I write Christian Fiction that I must live a fairy-tale life in order to dream up so much romance. While I am married to a wonderful man, I can’t say the heavens burst into song each and every time we kiss. If they did, I probably wouldn’t hear them anyhow for our kids carrying on in the background. In other words, my life is real. I’m a pastor’s wife, a mother of two, a business owner and on occasion, a graphic designer. That means my plate is full and that the same struggles, demands and yearnings that keep you anchored to reality are true for my life as well. But there is more. Lots more.

I really didn’t plan on becoming an author, but I truly believe writing is a ministry. As a Christian it’s where I find the greatest fulfillment and joy in serving my Lord. By using my God-given talents, I am able to take the life lessons I’m learning every day and put them into something that is not only entertaining, but also teaches deep truths—the deep truths found in God’s word.

Promise for Tomorrow is the first book in the Heritage House Series and I confess that it stemmed from one of my deepest fears. It was the fear of losing my husband and having to start over in a world of unknowns. This was such a strong fear for me that I would often dream about the what ifs life could bring until one morning God placed this story on my heart so strongly that I was helpless to do anything, but write it down. Weeks passed as chapter after chapter kept pouring from my heart and a miracle began to take shape. As I wrote what God gave me, the fear I had started to lose its power. I started to realize that no matter what happens in life, God really would be faithful to His promise to get me through.

Thankfully, as of yet, I haven’t suffered the tragedy of losing someone as close as a spouse, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been other events in my life that were not hard to bear. I know what it’s like to be disappointed, rejected, to be betrayed and to even feel abandoned. As a woman, I also know what it’s like to desire romance, to want to be thought of as beautiful, and to be loved unconditionally. There are days when I want to throw caution to the wind, forget the dishes and opt for something more instead. And I’ve also come to learn that this yearning in my feminine soul is placed there by design.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 45:11 that the king is enthralled by his bride’s beauty. The Bible also tells us that Christ is the King of kings and that we, the church, are his bride. I don’t know about you, but bride or not, no man has ever told me he was enthralled by my beauty…or anything else for that matter. I can’t even say that outside of this verse I’ve heard the word used, but that’s not the point. The point is I have never been loved perfectly, nor have I ever loved anyone perfectly. But that’s okay.

The more I study God’s Word, the more I’m finding that it truly is the most timeless and romantic love story ever written—and it’s not fiction. The Lord is enthralled with us, His bride. Enthralled, I say! It’s true! So true in fact, that He sent His only Son to die in our place to seal that truth throughout eternity.

That’s why it’s my goal as a novelist to take life’s not-so-fun realities and incorporate them into stories and characters that keep bringing us back to a basic truth for our non-fiction lives: God is love and because of that, we will find everything we need in Him. He is the Ultimate Lover of our souls. He is our Intimate Creator and it is His love that is perfect and complete in every way. I hope that my readers will be able to grasp that as they relate to the characters and the situations I write and then take a step back and apply the Biblical truths that are being taught to their own lives.

I do hope you will take the time to browse through the site, check out the blogs and maybe even contact me with feedback about how Promise for Tomorrow or other Christian Fiction has touched your heart. I truly feel God has given me a ministry in writing and it’s my prayer that you will find many deep truths tucked amongst the pages of my books and that those truths will stay with you long after the pages of fiction are closed.
