Welcome to my home page. Please take some time to learn about my story and how God has so richly blessed me by shaping me in such particular ways at the “About Author” Tab. For the purposes of this “Home” Tab, I would be honored if you would consider a particularly insightful, encouraging, and pertinent endorsement found in my book:

From a Pastor to the Reader-Flock

Dear co-Laborer in Christ,

“How could a good God allow pain and suffering in the world?” is an age-old question that many Christians continue to hear from thoughtful unbelievers as well as disillusioned believers. My friend, John Dozier offers deeply personal and biblically reliable answers for such seekers in his new book.

In a letter written in 1949, C.S. Lewis said, “God, who foresaw your tribulation, has specially armed you to go through it, not without pain but without stain.” John Dozier is a living illustration of Lewis’ words. Though John has endured the indescribably painful trials of a difficult childhood, the loss of his mother early in life, numerous broken relationships, and the suicide of his father on Christmas night 2002, they have not “stained” him. To describe the same truth in Tim Keller’s words, suffering has made John “better not bitter.”

Guided by the tender hands of Christ the Great Physician, John performs open heart surgery on himself in front of all of us. In response to his Savior’s grace, John reveals his heart for the glory of God and the blessing of his people. Not only is this a timely message, John’s writing it down for us is itself an example of the Gospel message of service, “Not for ourselves…” (Romans 15:1; Psalm 115:1).

John urges Christians to live through their present suffering with purpose and without self-pity in order to experience and express the beautiful blessing God is creating.

Many years ago George MacDonald gave the same testimony: “It has been well said that no man ever sank under the burden of the day.  It is when tomorrow’s burden is added to the burden of today that the weight is more than a man can bear.  Never load yourselves so, my friends.  If you find yourselves so loaded, at least remember this: it is your own doing, not God’s.  He begs you to leave the future to Him and mind the present.”

This book will be a blessing both for you and for those your life touches.

Sincerely in Christ,
